PosiBand technology is an improvement over split-finger contacts typically used in D-subs. It provides a more consistent electrical performance and greater ease in mating.

PosiBand uses a spring clip that yields a uniform electrical connection across a much greater surface area than split-finger designs. This allows more current flow with less heat generation, yielding the best power density per contact in the industry. In addition, the PosiBand design eliminates the need to anneal the contact body, lowering the resistance between the mated contacts, further increasing the current rate per contact.
